More about Joseph Scotti

Joey Scotti, officially and literally, is the composer of this song, but he would be the last to admit it.

Joey is 12 years old and a resident of Chicago's South Side. Born paralyzed, Joey spent most of his first eight years in bed.

Baseball was out of the question for little Joey, so he turned his heart to music.

Despite a weakened arm and leg, he chose to play organ, a mighty and complicated instrument that requires the use of both arms and legs.

After long hours of study at home, during which he called upon his strong will and intense faith in his success, Joey felt he was ready to take weekly lessons from Louis Webb, staff organist for the National Broadcvasting Company.

A few years later Joey's dream became a reality when he gave four concerts, at Ken Theatre, Chicago, attracted more than 4000 persons and collected over $500 which he contributed to the Sister Kenny fund for other handicapped youngsters.

Joey was proud of his concerts because they reprtesented a victory over a physical handicap. But this song?

"it composed itself." Joey says.
